Bridgemary Community Sports College is situated in the Borough of Gosport which is a densely populated peninsula between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, with easy access from Junction 11 off the M27 motorway.
The College is an expanding 11-16 LEA co-educational Community College. Following the restructuring of secondary education in the borough in 1987, the reorganised school opened with a number on roll of 600 which has grown to the present total of 1098.
Bridgemary Community Sports College occupies a pleasant site with good specialist accommodation and large playing fields. The College is currently going through a process of radical change.
Bridgemary Community Sports College is staffed by the Principal and College Leadership Group, 63 full-time equivalent teachers, 46 administrative, support and site management staff and 2 staff members who come under the Strategic Sports Coordinator Scheme. The Community Education Centre is staffed by the Community Education Manager and 3 administrative staff.
A range of in-service training is provided on site including NVQ's and IT training for all staff. There is an excellent induction and training package for all Newly Qualified Teachers and new staff to the school.
