The start of a year new is always genuinely exciting in school. We are welcoming 180 new
year 7 their parents and carers into our community, the 120 or so students into year 12 who have done so well in
their GCSEs and of course the rest of the school eager for another successful year. Spurred on by the pleasure
of watching students react to their fantastic achievements at A Level and the record breaking improvements at
GCSE on results day, teachers are planning for an even more successful year.
The year 12 students
who worked so hard to raise money to go to Ghana had, what was for many of them, a life changing experience.
Staff who accompanied them were full of admiration at how successful the trip was in forging mutual respect and
understanding.
We have restructured the school day to enable pupils to have the best possible
start to their learning each day. We have simplified the uniform so that is easier for students to attend school
prepared for the working day. We want everybody to come back eager, prepared and ready for the challenges,
pleasures and excitements of the school year!
We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible
and enabling you to make positive contributions to the life of the school and your children’s success.
I hope
you will explore the site and find our more about our 'outstanding school' (OFSTED report October 2006)
