Art teaching job

An academy in north-west London is looking for a new Art teacher for September on a full-time, ongoing basis with unbeatable pay.
This is a large diverse 11-18 mixed academy where a large proportion of children speak English as an additional language. The academy boasts Sports and Arts specialisms and has gained Sportsmark and Artsmark awards.
Ofsted judged this school to “require improvement” at its most recent inspection.  Achievement in Maths and Science was judged to be significantly improving and sporting, artistic and cultural activities were praised as being implemented successfully to develop social skills and raise self esteem. Similar initiatives were applauded by Ofsted, though other areas were identified as needing improvement, hence the appointment!
The headteacher is keen to address the problems outlined by Ofsted by ensuring that his staff team is exceptional and capable of raising attainment in all subject areas.  With this in mind, an experienced Art teacher with a track record of outstanding teaching is required.
The successful candidate will have:

  • A post-graduate Qualified Teacher Status qualification, e.g. PGCE
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Outstanding teaching practice
  • Experience teaching at a secondary level
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the subject
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A commitment to working as part of this close, supportive team
  • The ability to motivate and inspire
  • A desire to be involved in the wider community of the school
  • The drive to teach in a great school full of keen students and to build on existing success
